I have a hotel room reserved, but have not fully decided to go yet. February is just around the corner once Chicago Tardis is over so not sure my fiances would be in order....or have as much money as I would like since I know I would want autographs, plus airfare would be horrible for two of us flying from different locations.
On the flips side, if I can go, I would love to have a pic with Rory since my Cyber Leader is based on the 12th Cyber Legion he faced in "A Good Man Goes to War."
Just curious if anybody has plans to attend this con?

Less then 500 tickets available for Gallifrey One. I have a hotel room reserved already, but with no Doctor I don't know if the trip is worth it for me. Plane fare to that area for 2 of us, plus hotel is really more then we can afford especially since it is soo close to Chicago Tardis. There is just no time to save the money back up we spent with CT and that con cost us enough. If I knew I would pick up a new job that paid a bit more, I would be happy to go.... but right now I just don't see the value in it.
Yeah, I know its more then just the Doctor... but when you like to dress up and your costume is detailed and not common you miss a bit because people want photos, talk to you about how you did something and time really slips away so it takes a lot of planning. I miss half the con every year and that is ok with Chicago because I go there every year and I pick what panels I want to sit in and CT does not get as many guests.
I am rambling I know... I just woke up. Basically, money is tight, not many guest I really want an autograph from and at this point I don't think I can go.

I had planned to purchase tickets to this con this past week but as luck would have it, they sold out a few hours before I got a response back from my fiancee on if she wanted to go. The cost to get to this one is really a bit higher then Chicago and would require some planning. Guess now I can just plan for something more local.

I have one ticket for Gallifrey One. It looks like I won't be going. I didn't get a hotel room in the Marriot. Last year I had to travel back and forth from one of the nearby overflow hotels. This year if I have more costumes, that won't give me easy access and I'd rather do something else that weekend.
This Convention is not as supportive as some of the others I have attended. I was part of the Three generations of Cybermen, and we won the Best in the Show at the Masquerade. Mine is the actual Earthshock Cyberman leader with cybergun. It's made of fiberglass, and was most likely one of the original costumes. I just think the event organizers are overlooking some wonderful opportunities.
Surprised me that we, the three cybermen, are on our own for this years Convention and management didn't contact me to keep in touch, and make sure I was attending, or that my mask would be on display, etc.
So, I am willing to transfer my ticket to someone who would enjoy going, since there are nor refunds available once a ticket is purchased. PM me if interested in transferring ticket.

That is sad news. I would think that with all the great things you bring to the con, they would want you there!
I just committed to TimeGate, so I am having to save money for that con now, or it would be sooo tempting.
If (you) or anybody wants your ticket and needs a room, I do have a room at the Marriott I would be willing to transfer to somebody before I cancel it. Then they would be at the host hotel and not have to worry about the shuttles. I don't think my rate was part of the con block, but the price was basically the same since I reserved it about a week after the last Gallifrey since I was expecting some big stuff for the 50th.

I am going to contact the Raleigh/Durham Dr. Who meetup group & see if anyone has plans to attend Gallifrey One. Perhaps someone there needs a ticket & hotel room. I would also like to gauge how active they are. It would be nice to meet some local Whovians, not that I don't relish meeting my friends from CT.

I was able to transfer my ticket so I'm happy not to be out the money. I won't be attending this one and they don't seem to care that they will be missing out on the only authentic Cyberman that they had! The new generation cyberman decided to create a lot of drama when it wasn't necessary. He started to get some paid work and thought he was going to break into the special effects industry and didn't want to complete or honor any other commitments. The third cyberman suit was owned by the guy who is the Cosplay Chair for the Convention. He wanted to borrow the cyberman suit, but didn't want me to be involved in his video shoot for Gallifrey. That's because he couldn't control the paid person he was hiring. They seemed to be caught up in their own importance rather than having fun at a Convention. When we won the masquerade, we traded around our expertise and the Cybermen beat out the head of Cosplay. So he must not have been happy since he created all of the skits.
I'm hoping to go to the UK for some better 50th Anniversary events towards the end of the year. You can probably take down the countdown since the two cybermen aren't really interested in upgrading.... but they should be deleted!

Oh man, that sounds horrible. I am also hoping that I can head over to the UK for something this year if I can get finances in order (and a pay raise or better job)
Wish things had of worked out a lot better. I always look forward to seeing the Cyberman presence on the West Coast.
