Shifting over from Project Dalek, I've now got a pair of cos-players interested in flanking my Dalek as Earthshock Cybermen. Now all I need to figure out is how on earth to build these darn things as there doesn't appear to be as many hemispheres as what I'm used to.
But this forum seems to have more than a few folks that I met at Chicago Tardis last year (mine was the one Dalek not built by Mr. Duca)! Any info on where to begin this endeavor will be much appreciated.

Welcome! Mr Duca is a very good friend of mine so I am sure we have met at some point during the con. I just finished an Earthshock type suit myself for the TimeGate convention in Atlanta and plan to ship it to Chicago for Tardis this year since I am no longer able to drive, so must ship everything now. So cybus had to take a backseat to a more shipping friendly suit.
I can easily try to help you with the coverall part of it though the hardest part would be the helmet and chest. About a month or two ago there was a chance to jump on both helmet and chest from one of our friends in the UK cyber legion, but I think it may be too late to get a set or two if you are wanted to go that route. I can always ask however if he would be willing and also depending on what time frame you are trying to get them in there may be another run in the future. If you are planning to buy them, the cyber legions are the way to go. Much cheaper then ebay as most members are just trying to help each other out. Us here in the 13th have a good relationship with out UK counterparts in the 15th also, which helps.
If you are familiar with Pepakura, there is a pep file in work currently, but it has not been finished. I am not sure about the completion date, but I should be one of the first to know since I offered to help pay for the plans to be made available for others for free.
Outside of those two routes I am afraid I am not much help on the chest and helmet. I managed to get lucky with my chest and helmet, but always trying to help others "upgrade"

Whatever did happen to cybermanbuildersgroup.yuku.com/ ? I had this page bookmarked from last year, but the forum seems to be gone now. I started rounding up the Pepakura files for the Cybus, but Daleks were always taking top priority. Cyber Leader, if you do know one of the forums that's got a more active "Classifieds" page then the 13th Legion then please share. I'm interested to see how much it costs to shortcut and buy a head and chest. After doing Daleks from scratch it almost seems too easy (except Dave and I cheated a bit and he sent me a cowling) But I think your Attack cyberman looks excellent! Reading through your diary it seems to be just about what I'm aiming for (but in silver) ;D

The builders group is still there: cybermanbuildersgroup.yuku.com/As far as classifieds, I would try the RPF and also maybe the 15th Cyber Legion if you can catch a run or maybe if somebody there will be able to make one for you. I honestly don't know anybody in the US making them and I have no idea how. (I hate to admit that with all the other things I make and do, but I have never tried and not sure where to start ) The best place to find them would be on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/15thcyberlegion/Of course feel free to join us there too: www.facebook.com/groups/13thCyberLegion/Between the two legions you should be able to find something in the near future. There are always notices of people selling either on ebay or privately...of even letting everybody know before they sell via auction. Like I said before the 15th just finished a run of helmets and chests. I think all folks paid ahead, but maybe there was an extra or two pulled.

I'm not a real big Facebook fan, but in order for this project to get done, I may have to become one to join.
I think Ben and I may be able to pool our resources to build a bunch quickly. We are limited on time though and it may be several weekend projects that turn into a week once in a while for me. I will look around there and report my findings. Upgrade on!

That would be fantastic!
I would love to see more cybermen in the US! Really, I am not kidding on that one.

So the forum is still there, just hidden behind multiple Yuku sign-up and permissions! They must have moved the forum at some point as it used to be open to the public without a login.
But I'll look there and also at the 15th Legion on Facebook once the company firewall switches over (Facebook domain is banned during office hours).
Well I'll admit that I've already learned plenty since joining this forum. Thanks for the pointers!

The Yuku group seems a bit lax in responding to requests to join. I signed up last Friday and have not gotten a bite yet. CyberLeader, could you nudge someone there to see if they are in hibernation?

Odd, the person in charge of the forum was on yesterday. Still no luck with Yuku? Is it Yuku or the Builders Group itself? Sorry I can't remember the forum procedures.

As of today, I'm still getting: You have not been approved
You have now applied to "CYBERMAN BUILDERS GROUP" however, the community Administrator has not yet approved your application.
That's really quite disappointing.

Oops! I got into the 15th Cyber Legion, not the builders group. Still looking for parts and stats though.

Odd that the builders group has not approved you yet. I have to admit the forum is very hit or miss on people logging in, but should have been done by now for sure. I think most of the good resources that are on the forums are a part of the 13th and 15th Cyber Legions, so I think you will be perfectly fine without the forums as much as it pains me to say that. The Facebook groups are just so much more active. Heck, the forums here are even more active most of the time. :/
